Film Construction

Our story begins with two young men who, armed with a singular vision and a hand-levered La Pavoni espresso machine, decide to take over a basement office beside a student pub in Auckland. The year was 1996, and they knew this much – they were passionate about filmmaking, and partial to a good coffee.

Since then, Film Construction has grown beyond the bounds of a basement and into one of Australasia’s most creative and awarded film production companies; its Auckland facility now taking pride and place inside a former sheet metal factory

near Mt Eden; while our Sydney office, opened in 2004, sits inside an old seamen’s’ building in Surry Hills… as does its beautiful La San Marco double head espresso machine.

Film Construction has always been committed to supporting and developing a stable of talented directors, who have rapidly built a reputation for high-end creative output, while forging enduring relationships with a large number of local and international clients. With them, we have made hundreds of TVCs, filmed all over the world.
